Doubleheader Spotlight: Fort Erie Hosts OSBA Game of the Week

Written by: JJ Evason | @JJEvason

The Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association’s Game of the Week heads to Fort Erie International Academy (FEIA) on Tuesday, October 28th, where two powerhouse programs will take center stage in a marquee doubleheader that promises to showcase some of the province’s elite prep talent. Both the women’s and men’s contests will stream live on OSBA TV’s YouTube channel.

4:00 p.m. – OSBA Women’s: Fort Erie International Academy (2-0) vs. King’s Christian Collegiate (3-0)

The women’s matchup features an early-season clash of unbeaten contenders, as Fort Erie International Academy looks to protect home court against King’s Christian Collegiate in what could be a preview of future playoff battles.

FEIA has dominated their opening two contests, cruising past St. Jude’s Academy (95–46) and Lo Ellen Park Prep (91–29) behind balanced scoring and relentless defensive pressure. Lexee Anderson led the charge against Lo Ellen with 14 points, highlighting the depth and versatility that’s quickly becoming a trademark of the Fort Erie squad.

King’s Christian enters riding a three-game winning streak, having opened their season with statement victories over St. Jude’s Academy (64–46), Orangeville Prep (66–62), and most recently a 98–49 rout of Lo Ellen Park Prep. Their blend of perimeter shooting and disciplined defensive rotations should make for a high-quality, competitive matchup between two well-coached and evenly matched teams.

With both sides undefeated, Tuesday’s tilt will serve as an early measuring stick in the OSBA women’s standings — and likely determine who holds the inside track to top-tier status heading into November.

6:00 p.m. – OSBA Men’s: Fort Erie International Academy (2-1) vs. Hodan Prep (1-0)

The men’s feature game brings together two teams with championship aspirations and unfinished business from last season.

Fort Erie International Academy enters at 2-1, having rebounded from an opening loss to the defending OSBA champions, Ridley College (84–60), with back-to-back decisive wins over Lincoln Prep (111–71) and C.O.D.E Academy (82–66). FEIA’s offense has found its rhythm early, with efficient ball movement and consistent scoring from multiple options across the floor.

Awaiting them is Hodan Prep, last year’s OSBA Men’s Championship Weekend runners-up, who opened their 2025 campaign with a 94–86 victory over Brampton City Prep National. The duo of Ethan Basic and Zachary Downer combined for 46 points in that game, proving Hodan’s backcourt remains one of the most dynamic in the league.

With both teams boasting next-level athleticism and playoff-caliber rosters, expect this one to deliver pace, precision, and plenty of highlight plays. It’s the kind of matchup that defines early-season momentum — and could carry postseason implications down the stretch.
